SMA Tech - Products
SMA Tech develops and manufactures aluminium doors and ventilation grilles.
Currently, around 4.000 Doors and Ventilation grille in various sizes and designs leave our factory.
Why aluminium?
Aluminium is significantly lighter than steel, but - depending on the alloy - offers high strength at only a third of the density. It is easy to machine, corrosion-resistant and is ideal for our doors and ventilation grilles.
By anodising or coating, our products can also be used in highly corrosive environments. Naturally, we offer our doors and ventilation grilles in all RAL colours.
Our specially developed, extruded aluminium profiles are specially designed for use in transformer stations and technical buildings and meet all the necessary requirements and certificates.
Sustainability through progress
Our slogan emphasises our efforts to deepen our value creation and invest in our own door production. We are increasingly focusing on aluminium and reducing the proportion of steel in order to manufacture high-quality, sustainable products. Aluminium is almost completely recyclable, and the energy required for recycling is only around 5 % of the energy required for the production of primary aluminium.
The material can be recycled as often as required without any loss of quality. Through the use of recycled aluminium and continuous further development, we are optimising our products and reduce our CO2 footprint.
Development of a new generation of doors and ventilation systems
The doors and ventilation louvres we developed last year are more material-efficient and more economical in production. These products are mainly used in technical buildings and systems with electrotechnical components (e.g. transformers) or fuel-operated devices.
To keep the room temperature constant, our ventilation systems ensure sufficient air circulation based on physical parameters such as air resistance. The volume flow of cooling air that flows through the ventilation grilles releases the heat into the environment. The flow resistance coefficient (ζ) is used to precisely calculate the required ventilation area.
Our louvre design also protects against the ingress of foreign bodies (poke protection) and spray water.
Safety and quality tests in accordance with DIN EN 62271-202
Our doors and ventilation grilles are designed in combination with Scheidt transformer stations in accordance with the standard DIN EN 62271-202 tested. This standard specifies the operating conditions, rated values, design requirements and test methods for accessible and non-accessible transformer stations.
The type test reports accredited testing institutessuch as the IPH Berlin, confirm compliance with these safety requirements. For publicly accessible stations in particular, the Protection of operators and passers-by of central importance.
